Arman Gambaryan is an Armenian mixed martial artist who competes primarily in the light heavyweight division.

Career

Fighting out of St. Petersburg, Russia, Gambaryan is a member of the Red Devil MMA organization. He has fought with the M-1 global organization for most of his career, and has trained with Fedor Emelianenko. He is primarily a practitioner of Combat Sambo, and in recent years has been active as a sparring partner for Red Devil's fighters training in this style. Over the course of his career, Gambaryan has been particularly feared for his skill with the rear naked choke, a maneuver he has used to claim vicotries against champion grapplers.[1] Gambaryan is a notable competitor, holding a 20-6-1 mma record, and has defeated former Russian wrestling standout Murad Chunkaiev, Karl Amoussou, and Cyrille Diabate. He is one of two fighters to hold a victory over rising English prospect John Maguire. He has also faced veteran notables in Keith Jardine, and Chael Sonnen.[2]
